因其肉质细嫩紧密,像一块板似的,故名板鸭。板鸭色香味俱全,外形饱满,体肥皮白,肉质细嫩紧密,食之酥、香回味无穷。南京板鸭外形较干,状如平板,肉质酥烂细腻,香味浓郁,故有“干、板、酥、烂、香”之美誉。
