比特犬是一种搏击格斗犬，也称比特斗狗。许多喜爱动物人士听到“斗狗”二字，立刻便觉残忍，对斗狗这种犬种产生危险、恐怖和不安的印象。
比特犬的外型与一般土狗不相上下，但其体质却非常健朗，极少生病。毛短、皮厚、骨硬、意志坚强、天生痛觉神经迟缓、伤口自愈能力极快、极强。饲养、洗梳、整理十分方便。
比特的特点在其性格上，好血统的比特犬遭到危险时不屈不饶、意志力与爆发力惊人，即使战死沙场也不认输，喜欢比特的人其实喜欢的是比特的这种“精神”。比特引人争议、遭人冤枉也正在于此。有人认为比特犬除了天生好勇斗狠、残忍嗜血外，别无他用。其实，比特犬既是天生最强壮的搏击格斗犬，也是极优秀的家庭护卫犬。
二、斗犬有什么品种图片
中国斗犬是一种生物物种，所属科目是犬科。主要品种：为畜牧与守卫犬。 喜寒能适应寒冷的气候，需要经常梳理毛发，不容易训练，不容易与别的犬相处。
起源时期：16世纪,起初用途：斗犬、牧羊、狩猎,用途：伴侣犬。口鼻部有垫，因此突出部分恰当地置于鼻子根部，相对于身体，其头部比例较大，小耳附于近颊处，扎手的被毛很密，竖起，强健的腿上方肩膀是倾斜的。
犬中没有别的品种在外形上和沙皮犬相似。在中国的标准中将其构造描述为：贝壳状耳、蝴蝶鼻、甜瓜头、老太太脸、水牛颈、马臀、龙腿。
